Sound familiar?
Fast growth in Christian County leaves plenty of new homes stuck with unfinished drives.
- The gravel spread at move-in is already rutted, and the kids track it across the new floors.
- Rock from the drive rolls onto the lawn you just paid to seed or sod.
- Morning commutes start with a bumpy, dusty crawl out to the main road.
Local conditions
Rolling karst hills between two rivers
The county sits just south of Springfield, where rolling plateau land gives way to steeper Ozark hills toward the south and east. The Finley River winds through Ozark, and the James River runs through the west side of the county. Underneath, the ground is cherty clay over limestone, a karst landscape with sinkholes and springs in places. New lots are often freshly cut and filled, and that disturbed soil can settle as it dries out. Hot summers, wet springs and freeze and thaw winters all push on a drive that does not have a firm base.
What we see most in Christian County
Temporary gravel that never got finished
Many homes on acreage move in with a temporary rock drive. Before long it is rutted, thin and spreading into the yard.
Settling over fill dirt
Freshly built lots often have soil that was moved or filled. If that ground was not packed well, a drive on top can sink in spots.
Long acreage lanes in the hills
Homes on larger tracts in the hilly south and east come with long gravel lanes. Those wash out on the slopes and turn to washboard on the flats.
Commuter wear at the garage
Drives used twice a day by several cars wear fast where they turn into the garage. Loose rock there gets pushed into ridges and holes.
The solution
The Last Piece of Your New Place
You have put a lot into the house, and the drive should not be the part that looks unfinished.
Moving in is busy enough without fighting ruts and mud. Every rainy day means dirty floors and dirty cars. You want the outside to look as done as the inside, at a price that feels fair.
Trident Roads is a family owned and operated business with 15 years in the trade. We focus only on asphalt paving and chip seal, from short home drives to long country lanes. A 1 year warranty on the work comes with every job.
We will come out, look at your lot, and give you an honest plan and price for free.

What you get
A Finished Look
New asphalt driveways
Dark, even asphalt makes a new home look complete from the street. It pairs well with fresh landscaping and a crisp lawn edge.
Cleaner Floors and Cars
Sealed surface instead of loose rock
No more gravel dust or mud on the way in. Kids, pets and boots bring a lot less of the yard inside.
Smart Choice for Long Lanes
Chip seal for acreage
If your home sits at the end of a long lane, chip seal can seal the whole run at a sensible cost. Asphalt can then finish the part near the house.

Our recommendation
For homes in Nixa and Ozark subdivisions, a full asphalt driveway gives the finished look most owners want. Acreage homes with a long lane often do best with chip seal on the run and asphalt near the house. Business lots along the main highways call for asphalt with good drainage.

FAQ
Christian County questions
Still have questions? Call (816) 375-1940. We pick up.
My new home in Ozark came with a gravel drive. Can you pave over it?+
Often the existing rock can become part of the base, as long as it is thick and packed. If it is thin or mixed with mud, it may need more work first. We check it during your free on-site estimate.
Will a new drive sink on a freshly built lot?+
It can if the fill under it was not packed well. That is why we look at the soil before we pave and firm up the base where it needs it. If the ground needs more time to settle, we will tell you.
What should I use for a long lane on acreage near Sparta?+
Chip seal is often a good fit for long country lanes because it seals the whole run without the cost of full asphalt. Some owners pave the part near the house in asphalt and chip seal the rest. We price both options so you can choose.
Are there sinkholes I should worry about here?+
Parts of this county have karst ground, with sinkholes and springs in places. Most lots are fine, but a soft or sunken spot is worth checking before paving. We look for those during the visit and point out anything we see.
Can you pave while we are at work in Springfield?+
Yes. Our hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, which lines up with the work week for a lot of families. We set the timing with you at the estimate and let you know when the drive is ready to use.
